Read the following text and answer the statement: Fighting crime

In violent crimes, criminals will normally use harsh cleaning products to remove any blood from the crime scene. Fortunately for investigators, blood particles are very resistant and there are different ways to detect them, even if years have passed after a crime has been committed.

In such cases, investigators can rely upon a chemical called Luminol. When sprayed over a crime scene, Luminol glows a greenish-blue in a dark room for 30 seconds. Investigators then photograph these glowing particles and perform tests on them to ensure they are blood, as certain cleaning products may produce the same effect.

Luminol is not used as often as one might think because its chemical can ruin other evidence present at a crime scene. Consequently, it is usually one of the last methods that investigators use to detect blood.
